Find Your Passion – Career Change

Many of us don’t know what it is that we are passionate about, or what we are good at and can also earn an excellent living from. Does that apply to you? Each one of us has a unique message or role to play in the world and the world is a richer place if you are being and working from your authentic self.

“Whatever you can do or dream you can do, begin it! Boldness has genius and power and magic in it!” Goethe

It is widely accepted that if your work is your passion, not only do you perform at your best but you are happier and more engaged.  Work feels like play and time seems to disappear. You will be at your creative best.  How many successful actors have you heard say that they are not working but doing what they love?

What energises and excites you?  What do you have a passion for even if you think it can’t earn you an income? What hobbies or interests do you spend lots of time on where time just seems to fly?  What is your dream career? Finding your passion is essential for an effective and fulfilling career change.

There are a number of steps you can take to identify your passion.  Remember, your interests are not static and for most of us, our passion will change more than once over our lifetime.  Explore all possibilities and ask yourself questions such as: What are the things that I love to do and what are the things that I hate?  What do I learn about just for fun? What engages me completely, fires me up and inspires me? A career coach will have a number of exploration exercises that are playful and fun for your career change.
